This course is run over five days, Monday to Friday and is suitable for those who have attended the Basic Leatherwork course or have a basic knowledge of leatherwork. (e.g. know how to stitch, cut etc)
Students will learn:-
Ø Bridle making
Ø Pattern making (e.g. for billet ends etc)
Ø Rolled work
Ø Raised work
Ø Fancy brow and nosebands (e.g. clinchers, plaited)
In addition advice on the purchase of materials and costing projects will be given. Any aspect of saddlery and leatherwork that students many wish to discuss will be accommodated, time permitting. Students own repairs may be brought in for advice.
By the end of the week each student will leave with a hand stitched bridle with raised nose and browbands or headcollar with rolled throat.
If equestrian equipment is not your interest then this course will be tailored to meet your needs.
