Training Courses
This course is run over five days, Monday to Friday and is suitable for the absolute beginner wherever their interest may lie. e.g. Horses, dogs, belt making etc.

Students will learn:-

 Hand stitching using traditional methods
 Care and maintenance of tools
 Safe working practices
 To distinguish differing cuts of leather and correct choice for the job in hand. Also how to choose and recognise faults in leather hides.
 Choice and use of differing threads and needles
 Correct choice of hardware (e.g. buckles)
 Cutting, preparing and finish leather from the beginning to the end of a project.

In addition advice on the purchase of tools and materials, setting up of a work place, will be given.  Any aspect of saddlery and leatherwork that students many wish to discuss will be accommodated, time permitting.

By the end of the week each student will leave with an item of tack or leatherwork made by themselves.

Cost

£360 (three hundred and sixty pounds sterling) per week.  
Basic Leatherwork
For those who cannot attend a week’s course, the Basic Leatherwork course has been broken down into two modules of two days each.  
Basic Leatherwork (Module 1)

Basic Leatherwork (Module 2)

This course is run over two days, and is intended for those who have completed Basic Leatherwork Module 1.

This course is the second half of the Basic leatherwork course and will cover the cutting, preparing and finishing of leather from the beginning to end of a project. (This would normally be a cavason bridle although other items can be made if your interest is not in the equestrian sector).
